How does Hypnotherapy work to Stop Smoking and Vaping?
Our trained Clinical Hypnotherapists offer a full assessment of your smoking habits; behaviours, thoughts, feelings and triggers to devise a personalised 12 Step Programme to get you to your goal of becoming a Non-Smoker – for good.
The 12 Step Programme uses a blend of talking therapies and hypnotherapy to help you to access your personal resources to make the change you want. Hypnotherapy is a relaxed state to focus your attention and concentration to enable your sub-conscious mind the ability and strength to receive and act on suggestions to achieve your goal.

- Following your initial free 20 minute consultation, either in person or on the phone, we will arrange your appointment at one of our clinics.
- We will provide you with a questionnaire and preparation to ensure that you’re fully ready when you attend your appointment.
- We offer a follow up service to consolidate the changes you’ve made during the session.
Why do people smoke cigarettes or vape?
Most people start smoking as young adults and there are many reasons why a person starts to smoke. It could be to ‘feel cool’ and it was ‘what everyone else was doing’, it can also be a way to rebel and to assert yourself. It’s really easy to become addicted to smoking because of the nicotine found in tobacco products.
When people find they are addicted to nicotine, it means your body relies on a regular supply of it to feel comfortable. If that supply becomes irregular or there’s a gap between cigarettes, your body will start to experience withdrawal symptoms. These could include; cravings, irritability, anxiety, restlessness and poor concentration.
When you smoke, it takes 6-10 seconds for the nicotine to reach your brain.
Nicotine is a stimulant so it speeds up a person’s brain and can increase focus.
Smokers enjoy the ritual of smoking and vaping, including the paraphernalia attached to this habit, reinforcing the behavioural habit.
Smoking relieves the withdrawal symptoms, providing a feeling of pleasure.
